Dr. Cheick Modibo Diarra is a Malian physicist, astronomer, and former prime minister of Mali. He was born on January 1, 1945, in Nioro du Sahel, Mali.

Dr. Diarra is a well-known scientist who has made significant contributions to the field of astrophysics. He was a former manager at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and was responsible for several missions to Mars, including the Mars Global Surveyor and the Mars Climate Orbiter.

In addition to his scientific work, Dr. Diarra is also active in politics and has held several high-level positions in the government of Mali. He served as Prime Minister of Mali from April 2011 to December 2012, and prior to that, he served as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Mines, Energy and Water, and Minister of Agriculture.

Throughout his career, Dr. Diarra has been a strong advocate for scientific education and research in Africa, and has worked to promote the development of the scientific community in Mali and throughout the continent. He is widely recognized for his contributions to both science and politics, and is considered a prominent figure in both fields.
